Travel Counsellor Wins Avis Scholarship of Excellence

Thursday, 10 November 2011

Travel Counsellors are delighted to announce that Claudia Silk was awarded the Avis Scholarship of Excellence last night at a prestigious award ceremony in Sydney.  Claudia is the 15th Agent to receive the award, but also the first home based agent to win. General Manager, Deb Duncan says ‘We are incredibly proud of Claudia. She represents all that Travel Counsellors stands for, and deserves to be recognized for her dedication to her customers’.

On receiving the award, Claudia says ‘I am truly honoured to be chosen for the award. The quality of the other finalists was extremely high, so to actually win is a massive achievement for me. I always go that extra mile for my customers, so to be recognized by my industry peers is quite humbling.’

Claudia Silk was chosen as one of 5 finalists from hundreds of entries, and was asked to present to the board of judges yesterday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. "It was clear Ms Silk was someone who truly excelled in terms of her delivery of outstanding customer service,” Avis travel industry manager, Russell Butler said. “I think what impressed the judges just as much was her obvious desire and determination to keep on developing and improving those already impressive skills."

As well as the hard work Claudia puts in to be available to her customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, she believes part of her success is down to the support she receives from the company’s head office in Melbourne. Having the administration process taken care of by her own Accounts Administrator, she can concentrate on ensuring her customers are personally looked after.

The unique level of personal service that Claudia has been recognized for has also resulted in Travel Counsellors being one of the top scoring companies in the world when it comes to customer loyalty, with a world beating score of over 90% in its customer satisfaction survey.
