Creating a truly mobile Group, TravelManagers has unveiled a range of technological advancements including email migration, upcoming updates to the Amadeus platform, arrival of eNett as well as new employee support.
Kicking off new tech, the company announced that it will migrate its email platform into the Gmail system to allow agents to check their mail and update work calendars on the go.
Speaking at the Company’s 2011 National Conference in Melbourne last week, director of IT Matthew Harris explained that the new system would commence roll out this week and expects every Personal Travel Manager to be equipped with the new system before Christmas.
He told up to 150 consultants that once the platform is up and running, any changes made to an agent’s inbox via a smart phone would automatically sync to the computer and vice versa.
“So much of what we do is web based… [and] this should make us completely mobile,” Mr Harris said.
As well as email accessibility, Mr Harris told agents that Amadeus is working to convert its selling platform into a web format.
While more information on the product will not be available until after 2012, the product is currently only available on a Windows PC and the transformation would allow agents to use the system at any computer.
The company’s national finance manager Tanyu Cilek revealed that the Group had also spent up to 18 months working to launch a new Tramada program.
He said the “enhanced” product would undergo testing in different states using clusters of Travel Managers and expects roll out to take place from 1 April next year.
eNett is also heading into the mobile consultants Group, with plans for the product to enter testing phase on Wednesday or Thursday this week.
The Group’s 2011 Conference was held in Melbourne on Friday and Saturday last week and saw the attendance of up to 150 Personal Travel Managers.
TM parent company, House of Travel founder Chris Paulsen took time out on the first day of the conference to tell e-Travel Blackboard that one of the few ways agents can survive online domination is by offering customers new experiences as well as building relationships.
