TravelManagers plan online renovation

Monday, 14 November 2011

The mobile travel consultants Group is planning to “enhance the customer experience” with a revamp of its online presence.

With a fresh new face for its consumer website in the works, marketing manager Chrissy Tayfield explained that a new site was one of the steps towards building a company brand as well as offering easier online movements for clients and build new business.

Among the changes Ms Tayfield highlighted included adjustments to personal profiles, increased visibility to its agents as well as the possibility of unveiling a new destination and travel diary.

“We definitely see a great need to move forward to something tighter for consumers to see,” Ms Tayfield said.

“It’s about enhancing the customer experience… [and] making the search for Personal Travel Managers more highlighted than before.”

The marketing manager added that other initiatives the Group is taking to advance its brand included ongoing PR activities, a new corporate Facebook page as well as unveiling new templates for consultants to use.

“We will also further develop our social media,” she said.

While an official launch date for the new online activities is yet to be revealed, TravelManagers chairman Barry Mayo noted towards the closing of his speech that the new Facebook page may be unveiled over the next two months.

Speaking at the 2011 TravelManagers National Conference in Melbourne late last week, Ms Tayfield and Mr Mayo discussed the importance of building and maintaining a company brand.

TM parent company, House of Travel founder Chris Paulsen also told e-Travel Blackboard on the first day of the event that one of the few ways agents can survive online domination is by offering customers new experiences as well as building relationships.
