The build up to this year’s UK Conference has been made even more exciting with a group of lucky Austrtalian Travel Counsellors attending along with Australian GM, Deb Duncan and National Recruitment Executive, Kerryn Murphy. They will join over 1,000 agents, partners and head office staff from around the globe including other international franchisees who will also be in attendance from Canada, South Africa, Netherlands and Ireland.
The 8 lucky Aussie TC’s have landed in Paris in the last 24 hours and are enjoying the sites before heading over to the UK to attend the UK annual conference, this year being held in Birmingham, then a stopover in London before a short break in Abu Dhabi on the way home as part of an exclusive TC Australian famil put together with Qantas & Etihad Airways.
The theme for this year’s conference is “The World Of Travel Counsellors” really focusing on the support both locally and internationally, highlighting the family ethos and unique and special community that is Travel Counsellors. Extra support that has been added to the business model over the last 12 months is the introduction of TC Kids, a holiday program that encourages kids to participate with their own TC Kids secure website so that Mum & Dad TC’s are able to still run their businesses while the kids are kept busy with educational and fun tasks. Part of the TC Kids program also includes a TCTV Kids special, broadcast live with competitions and prize giveaways for the kids.
“What a fantastic way to have the kids involved in a safe and secure environment while also learning about what Mum or Dad do for a living. I can honestly say I have never known a company to be so involved or caring about it’s franchisee’s children” comments Deb Duncan.
Travel Counsellors also identified that a different level of support was needed for those TC’s who have teenagers coping with the stresses of exams. “We have put together a series of motivational videos specifically targeted for teenagers who are going through that stressful time of exams and finals for end of year, because we recognize that running a business from home affects the whole family, not just the individual TC, so we want to be able to help our TC and their family through these times as best we can” says Tracy Parkinson, Business Development Manager Australia.
TC Partners program was also introduced this year, where partners of Travel Counsellors are invited into head office for their own day of business sessions where they can meet and understand the importance of their role and share tips and ideas of how they can help their partner’s business grow. It also is a great day for them to get another perspective on what their partner does and the support available to them all from head office both locally and internationally.
The response has been overwhelming from the TC’s, their partners and their children that these extra offerings has been rolled out worldwide with plans to keep adding those extra touches to make everyone feel the camaraderie, not just with the TC’s but with their families as well, as Travel Counsellors recognize that family is the most important thing!
