Contiki Holidays has launched its new 2012/13 Asia brochure, with significantly increased capacity across its range of tours in Vietnam, Thailand (including the Thai Islands), Cambodia, Laos and China.

The new program features seven tours across these five countries, ranging from the nine-day Thai Island Hopper West or Thai Island Hopper East to the 25-day Big Indochina Adventure which explores Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Each tour is made up of approximately 30 people only, providing an intimate and authentic experience with like-minded people.

Fiona Hunt, Managing Director, Contiki Holidays said, “Asia has long held a huge appeal for the 18-35 market. This was evident when we launched the program in 2009, and figures have continued to grow year on year.

“This year’s increased capacity, which is double the number of departures in some cases, is a response to extremely high demand for Contiki’s Asia product. A demand that resulted in a number of quickly sold out tours throughout 2011. As this new season launches and progresses, we will continue to monitor capacity and add even more departures should demand dictate.

“We believe that Asia appeals to young Australians for a number of reasons. It has a high level of accessibility thanks to the low-cost carriers and new routes regularly launching, plus it offers a diverse range of sights and experiences unlike anywhere else in the world. Additionally, the short haul flights make it easy for travellers with limited annual leave from work or on break from university.

“The way our Asia tours have been designed are now a proven success and that is because with Contiki, travellers experience more.  Every tour includes amazing accommodation, authentic local meals, a variety of transport, unique experiences that showcase the true Asia and the services of Contiki’s expert crew who will share their local know-how of the best places to eat, drink, visit and shop. Contiki’s Tour Managers are also supported by local guides throughout Asia, who will bring the background of their hometowns to life.

“Today’s young travellers are very informed about what they want to experience, so in addition to everything we do include in our itineraries, we also ensure there is plenty of free time which allows travellers to personalise their adventure in Asia. This might mean exploring the backstreets, sampling local specialties, picking up a bargain in the markets, taking time out to relax or enjoying one of the Contiki Explore More optionals, designed to help them make the most of their time.

“The 2012/13 Asia program also allows provides travellers the opportunity to give back to the local communities they are visiting through experiences such as visiting a centre that helps modern day victims of Lao’s Civil War or eating out at restaurants that provide training and employments for less fortunate locals.

“It’s all these differences that make Contiki the perfect choice for agents seeking authentic, great value and unique adventures in Asia for their 18-35 year old clients.”
