Five cruise ships were diverted from their scheduled visit to Grand Cayman today with severe waves in Georgetown Harbour preventing vessels to tender off shore and ferry passengers in. Carnival Legend, Carnival Valor, Disney Magic, Norwegian Sun and Voyager of the Seas were affected, with Cruise Critic reporting that Carnival’s ships will spend the day at sea en route to their next port of call. Carnival passengers’ onboard accounts will be reimbursed with government fees and taxes for missing Grand Cayman. Disney and Royal Caribbean have reported that their ships will also spend the day at sea with a Disney spokesperson confirming that any shore excursions will be refunded to passengers. |
