Eight lucky travel counsellors, including one head office staff member and a Qantas Holidays representative, set off on an exclusive famil to Paris and Abu Dhabi, with a stop in Birmingham to attend the UK Travel Counsellors conference.
Paris was the first port of call, where the group enjoyed the amazing sites and excellent shopping of this timeless city. Moulin Rouge, dinner at the Eiffel Tower and a river cruise were among some of the tours experienced during the 3 day stay. Crossing by Eurostar the next stop was Birmingham where the theme of the conference this year was ‘The World of Travel Counsellors’. Wowed by the 1000 strong delegation the Australian Travel Counsellors got to experience the global reach of the company with attendees from UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Canada and South Africa. Australia was very proud to have two Travel Counsellors receiving awards at the gala dinner, Scott Mayne (Best TC Australia) and Elizabeth Keller (Best Newcomer Australia).
Elizabeth Keller, VIC Travel Counsellor said the highlight of her trip was “my win of course and how special everyone made me feel. The UK Conference was amazing, so many people overwhelming and impressive. The speakers were fantastic, the ones that spoke about human behaviour and personalities were eye opening and now I can identify that with my clients and their needs.”
With a brief stopover in London, staying at the very luxurious Langham Hotel we flew out of Heathrow, luckily missing the settling fog, to arrive in Abu Dhabi. Checking into the newly opened 5 star Park Hyatt located on Saadiyat Island, along the 9-kilometre stretch of environmentally protected beach, an idyllic setting. With a tour of the city including the breath- taking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the group had the opportunity to get a firsthand insight into what will be the cultural hub of the Emirates in years to come.
Charlene Reid, NSW Travel Counsellor said “I loved everything about Paris; it was magnificent and beautiful all in one. I had a great time on my first TC famil and the experience at the UK Conference was just excellent.”
Michelle Kerr from Qantas Holidays said she thoroughly enjoyed the trip “It was an absolute pleasure to get to know each of the Travel Counsellors and to gather an understanding as to how we at Qantas Holidays can work more closely with them and grow our business together.”
“We want to thank Michelle and Qantas Holidays who without their support wouldn’t have made this famil possible.”Comments Kerryn Murphy, Recruitment Executive & head office representative who escorted the trip.
