Ads to support new Smarttraveller site

Friday, 2 December 2011

AFTA chief executive Jayson Westbury took the time earlier this week to praise the Government’s initiative to re-launch the Smartraveller website as well as produce three new campaign videos driving traffic onto the site.

Speaking at a CATO gathering earlier this week, Mr Westbury explained the television ads would run over Christmas to promote the site as well encourage more holiday-makers to stay safe with travel insurance and travel plan registration.

Spending up to $13 million, the 30 second ads will be supported with print ads well as a new smart phone friendly website.

“It is amazing for a Government to be doing this sort of engagement with travellers,” he said.

At the event held in North Sydney, CATO announced it would also open its membership up to tourist offices.
