November 14 Makes P&O Cruises’ Booking History

Monday, 5 December 2011

Australian travellers leapt onboard to book their cruise holidays during spring, with P&O Cruises reporting its biggest day of sales for the year on Monday November 14.

The booking high follows the launch of P&O Cruises’ first ever ‘Sail Week’ in mid-November, with seven different holiday offers on sale every day of the week.

Jenny Lourey, Senior Vice President of Carnival Australia which operates P&O Cruises, said the offers had proved a great incentive for consumers to choose a cruise over other getaways as the holiday period approaches.

“With so many great cruising options now available, many consumers have decided the time is right to try cruising or to take to the seas again,” Ms Lourey said.

“The recent $3 million cashback promotion, which launched in September to coincide with P&O Cruises’ three millionth passenger celebrations, had also been very popular.”

Ms Lourey said offering cash booking incentives to both consumers and travel agents had proved a tremendous success, with P&O Cruises giving back more than $3 million in response to new bookings from agents and consumers.
