RCL Australia welcomes third ship and celebrates third year in Australia

Wednesday, 7 December 2011

In RCL Cruises Australia’s case, good things come in threes.  After operating in Australia for a relatively short time, this December 8 2011 the cruise company will not only be celebrating the recent arrival of their third ship for the summer season, Australia’s highest-rated ship Celebrity Century, but also the third birthday of their local office.

Since first opening their doors in 2008, RCL Cruises has introduced and announced Australia’s  two largest, most modern and amenity packed superliners, Voyager of the Seas and Celebrity Solstice, as well as the region’s first 21st Century superliner, Radiance of the Seas

“Our first three years operating Down Under have certainly been a whirlwind – and also some of the most exciting that Australia’s cruise industry has seen.  When we celebrate our third birthday this week we’ll be taking time to reflect on the several hundred thousand Australians that have cruised with us and how much we’ve enjoyed having them as our guests,” said Adam Armstrong, commercial manager, RCL Cruises Australia.

“We’ve enjoyed a very warm reception from guests and trade partners alike, from sell-out seasons on Rhapsody of the Seas to introducing new to ships Australia like Radiance of the Seas and Celebrity Century.  Next year is going to be even more exciting as we introduce Celebrity Solstice and Voyager of the Seas, boasting amenities never seen before in local waters.”

In the last three years RCL Cruises has introduced Australians to the world's two largest superliners Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, plus three ships from the award-winning Celebrity Solstice Class, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse and Celebrity Silhouette.   After tripling in capacity this summer alone – growing from one ship to three – over 130,000 guests will cruise with RCL Cruises in local waters across 44 cruises.  These numbers will increase again in summer 2012-13, when the cruise operator will have five ships operating locally and welcome over 200,000 guests onboard.
