Villegiature Awards 2011: A prestigious design award for the Baglioni Hotel London

Thursday, 8 December 2011

November 14th saw the presentation of the Villegiature Awards 2011 at the Hilton Arc de Triomphe hotel in Paris. These awards have been decided on by a jury composed of 20 journalists from the most prestigious international magazines.

Since 2003, the Villegiature Awards have rewarded excellence in European hotels, exotic islands and in Africa. This year the Baglioni Hotel London brings the Baglioni Collection to the highest level on the Villegiature Awards podium by winning the “Best Bathroom in a hotel in Europe” category.

Unveiled in 2006 in an original Victorian building, the Baglioni Hotel has brought Italian style to the heart of Kensington. Since its opening, the hotel has been appreciated by international guests who love its style which mixes classical traditional pieces with modern design elements.

Impressive, black Murano glass chandeliers, golden walls that recall the Italian sun, a water feature in the foyer which is reminiscent of fountains in an Italian piazza and sumptuous fabrics in muted colours that contrast with black wood floors, are some of the elements that make the Baglioni Hotel London a design hotel full of “Made in Italy” tradition.

In this context the bathrooms of the rooms and suites – being amongst the most spacious in the English capital city - are modern design jewels in which the beaten silver of hand basins, the many mirrored surfaces and the traditional marble is enhanced by high-tech led lighting

Each bathroom is provided with a luxurious set of toiletries that could make a spa envious and in the evening scented candles are lit to provide a romantic touch.

The Baglioni Hotel in London belongs to the Baglioni Hotels Group formed in 1973  and which today has 9 properties in Italy (Milan, Venice, Florence, Punta Ala, Rome), France (Aix-en-Provence, Champillon-Epernay, Saint Paul de Vence) and UK (London).
