On Tuesday 6th December United Airlines, to-gether with the Humpty Dumpty foundation, brought the festive season to children under the care of the Westmead and Randwick children’s hospitals with a fantasy flight between Sydney and Melbourne. Staff fund raising paid for signature bears and other gifts and catering companies, Gate Gourmet in Sydney and Alpha Catering in Melbourne, provided food and refreshments. Gate 9 at Melbourne airport once again became, for a couple of hours, The North Pole with Father Xmas on hand to distribute gifts and presents to the children, ably supported by Humpty Dumpty and the Clown Doctors. Angela Garniss, GM for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation told us that “This year’s ‘Flight of Fantasy’ was a wonderful experience for all the children and parents involved in today’s journey to the ‘North Pole’! Everyone on the United team were wonderful, so helpful, obliging and just so happy to be there with the kids”.  One of the parents,  Tony DiMauro, CEOfficer, Uniting Financial Services said, “My son will cherish his autographed bear for many years to come. United can truly stand proud as a model corporate citizen putting back into the community and putting smiles on so many young faces. Chris Petty, Sales Manager for Australia and New Zealand commented, “It was wonderful seeing staff from so many departments working together to make this a special day. It was heart warming to see the joy we brought to these children and their families. It really touched everyone in a very personal way and made it a day we will all remember for a very long time.  We really want to thank the Humpty Dumpy Foundation, Melbourne and Sydney Airports and everyone else who contributed to making this such a special day for the children.
