jetBlue aircraft at JFK

Carrier: jetBlue

Flight Number: B6 678 departing 11:05

Duration: 6:10

Class: Economy Class

Configuration: A320, 3-3

Check-in experience:
An internet check-in the previous day allowed for going directly to the bag-drop counter rather than the longer full-service queue.  Unlike legacy carriers in the US, jetBlue permits travellers to check the first bag at no charge.

On-time performance:  The flight left on time and arrived ten minutes early.

Seat/Cabin conditions:
As on other recent jetBlue flights, this aircraft was clean and fresh.  A window seats allowed for taking in the variety of landscapes as the plane travelled across the United States.

Food And Beverage:
On all jetBlue flights, free and unlimited snacks and soft drinks are available throughout the flight, with alcoholic drinks and meals available for purchase.

Service:
The purser established an upbeat mood by telling jokes as the plane taxied from the departure gate to the runway for takeoff; the good mood was maintained throughout the flight.  Flight attendants really did attend; they were present from start to finish, offering drinks, snacks, or conversation to those who wanted them.

Entertainment:
jetBlue's free DirecTV satellite television broadcasts are a favourite of travellers, though the films offered are also popular entertainment, especially on longer flights.

Arrival:
Arrival at LAX was quick and easy.  Suitcases were delivered to Baggage Claim without delay.  Just out the door are the vans and shuttles connecting LAX to many destinations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and beyond to other locations in Southern California, including Disneyland and Santa Barbara, home to SB Airbus, which provides comfortable transport to what is known as the American Riviera.

Overview:

Though jetBlue maintains a substantial presence at its west coast hub in Long Beach, just south of Los Angeles, it runs several flights a day between LAX and JFK, where it is the largest airline.  jetBlue also connects LAX with nonstop flights to Boston and Fort Lauderdale, its Florida hub.
