A 28 year old Frenchman has been arrested in the airport on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion for selling items on the internet that he stole from first class flights, reported AFP.
Based in Canada, the photographer would travel first class on Air France and other airlines, disembarking with more than just his hand luggage he took on.
According to French police a stash of airline napkins, glasses, plates, blankets and anything else he thought he could sell online was found in the man’s possession.
He is alleged to have made a small fortune from his pilfering, with sales from his stolen items totally 10,000 Euros ($13,000 AUD) over the past three years.
A complaint from Air France alerted authorities and led to his arrest, after the suspect admitted to his offences.
The suspect has been allowed to remain free, however cannot leave the island, until his court appearance. A further investigation looking into his activities on other airlines will continue. |
