In an effort to further unite and grow the cruise industry, P&O Cruises has announced the establishment of a travel agent Advisory Board to address and review important industry issues. Key agents across Australia will be involved to discuss market trends, technology, communications and industry best practice with plans to expand to New Zealand in the future. The initial board will meet every six months and will be made up of the following nine travel agents along with sales and marketing representatives from P&O Cruises: New South Wales Gil McLachlan – Harvey World Travel Melbourne Queensland Dan Russell – Globenet Travel/Clean Cruising Victoria Robin Sinfield – Excell Travel & Cruise South Australia Phil Hoffman – Phil Hoffman Travel Western Australia Gina Maitland – Alpha Travel “The creation of the Board recognises the importance of working with the trade to ensure that the cruise industry continues to grow and prosper in Australia,” Carnival Australia senior vice president Jenny Lourey said at the announcement aboard Dawn Princess for the Partnership Summit. Board members will serve a two-year term with the first meeting taking place in April 2012. |
