The ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore gave media an exclusive walk-through of their newest exhibition; Cartier Time Art.
Unveiled yesterday, the showcase strictly presents the history of the company’s movements in time pieces and is made up of 159 pieces, with the oldest watch dating back to 1874.
Selected as the second city after Zurich to host the exhibition, ArtScience Museum director Tom Zaller said at the media event yesterday that it was perfect for the region because it combined both art and science as well as supplied Singaporean and visitors with a familiar brand.
Starting from the late 1800s the exhibition goes through 12 different watch movements from that see traditional forms of time pieces develop into current, modern day wrist watches.
Also unveiling 17 new pieces that hint the future direction for the watch-makers, Mr Zaller added that the exhibition was part of the Museum’s aims at “engaging the public” with new forms of entertainment.
