Hurtigruten is pleased to advise they have added additional sailings in their 2012 Spitsbergen season onboard the classic MS Nordstjernen. The additional sailings will depart between June and August 2012 and will take guests on a spectacular, 5-day journey into the Norwegian Island of Spitsbergen, where they will experience Longyearbyen, Barentsburg, Ny Ålesund and the west coast of Spitsbergen, including well-known areas such as Magdalenefjord, Moffen and Liefdefjord. The planned route crosses 80° North and guests can expect to see walrus, polar bears, a variety of birds and other Arctic species including whales, reindeer and ptarmigan.
