Wednesday, 21 December 2011

Ayers Rock Resort has appointed well-known Australian musician and performer Adam Thompson to the role of Entertainment Consultant.

Voyages’ Managing Director, Koos Klein commented, “One of our most important objectives at the Resort is to provide authentic Indigenous interactive experiences throughout the year for both Australian and international guests. In addition to the activities already in place, Adam is developing a whole range of cultural performances that highlight various aspects of Indigenous culture, both local and from across Australia. The program starts with a number of special performances over this Christmas and New Year’s period.”

Best known as lead singer of ARIA Award-winning band Chocolate Starfish, Adam Thompson has a long history of working with Indigenous communities and youth organisations around Australia and the Asia Pacific region. His company MusoMagic runs literacy-focused programs that connect youth with experienced industry professionals to write, produce and record radio-ready songs.

Recently purchased by the Indigenous Land Corporation, Ayers Rock Resort is situated on the edge of the world heritage listed Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park and is managed by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia.
