Some of the country’s most famous chefs will join forces with Australia’s corporate elite next year in a world first charity event to feed Sydney’s homeless and disadvantaged.
Australia’s national carrier Qantas and the country’s favourite food rescue organisation OzHarvest are joining forces to present the CEO CookOff – bringing together hundreds of Chief Executive Officers to cook for 1000 Sydneysiders in need.
The event will take place on the evening of Monday 6 February 2012 at Cathedral Square, in front of St Mary’s
Cathedral in Sydney.
Partnering with 30 celebrity chefs from Australia’s top kitchens, directed by Rockpool and Qantas ambassador, Neil Perry, small groups of 10 CEOs will work together in teams to prepare meals and feed the homeless.
Some of the chefs involved in the inaugural event include: Neil Perry, Peter Gilmore, Guillaume Brahimi, Bill
Granger and Maggie Beer.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said he was looking forward to sponsoring such a worthy cause.
“This is a great opportunity for Australia’s corporate leaders to experience a first-hand connection with the
needy and less fortunate by preparing their meals and breaking bread with them.”
As the inaugural event, the CEO CookOff will create awareness about food security and homelessness whilst also raising much needed funds for OzHarvest and Mission Australia.
CEOs are invited to visit www.ceocookoff.com.au to register and are encouraged to entertain healthy competition in fundraising for the cause. All proceeds will be shared between OzHarvest and Mission Australia. |
