Australian agents will have the chance to submit a name for Carnival Spirit's new outdoor BBQ restaurant prior to her Sydney arrival in October 2012.

Following the successful naming of the world's steepest and fastest waterslide at sea, 'Green Thunder', via a Facebook competition, Carnival Cruise Lines Australia decided to turn to their travel partners for this part of the ship's 'Aussification'.

"To find just the right name for our outdoor BBQ restaurant onboard Carnival Spirit, we'll be reaching out to the Australians who know travel best, our valued travel partners," Carnival Cruises Lines director Jennifer Vandekreeke said at the announcement onboard Dawn Princess last week.

"The agent that suggests the winning name will be invited onboard during the Spirit Celebration Sailaway on 19 October to test out the new BBQ menu serving up snags, skewers and more, along with beautiful open ocean views."

Ms Vanderkreeke also announced the launch of their latest travel agent competition with every booking made between 1 January and 3 March awarding agents a ticket in the draw to win a spot on the repositioning cruise from Hawaii to Sydney in October 2012.
