More people are travelling with their favorite pet these days with Virgin Atlantic revealing it is now transporting more pets between different countries than ever before. Whether it is to go on holidays or relocation to another country, more dogs are being checked in and leaving the UK with their owners. Virgin Atlantic provides a pet travel scheme, an initiative that has been a huge success since 2003 seeing a 1,500 per cent increase in animals that travel in the cargo hold of its aircraft. Virgin transported more than 800 dogs and cats in 2011. Pet owners were encouraged to leave the dog with their favorite blanket or toy during their travels to comfort the animal if concerned about them getting stressed being in unfamiliar surroundings.
