Holding the World Travel Awards' World's Leading Airline Alliance title for the past eight years, oneworld received another accolade this month, named Best Airline Alliance by a leading independent business travel news website. The airline alliance group have for a second year running taken out this title from the US-based Global Traveler in the leading business travel magazine's GT Tested Reader Survey 2011 Awards. Winning this award means oneworld now holds three of the top five awards that are presented internationally to airline alliance groups. Australian travellers remain a clear winner with the alliance group, with not only the founding member Qantas flying in Australian skies, but airlines such as British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and LAN flying travellers from Australian shores to connect with the world. Malaysia Airlines is set to join the alliance in the latter half of 2112, extending this network even further. |
