It was the year that saw Australia’s flag carrier cease operations for an entire weekend, the 12 month period that witnessed the power of Rugby on tourism and 365 days that welcomed the arrival of several new low-cost carriers.

As 2012 creeps around the corner we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the news that made headline across Australia and defined the year that was 2011.
