Starwood to continue with the management of Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, the Company’s landmark hotel in Bangkok, Thailand

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Royal Orchid Hotel (Thailand) Public Company Limited today announced the renewal of the management agreement for Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers located in Bangkok, Thailand.

Starwood commenced the management of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in 1985.  It was Starwood’s first managed hotel in Thailand and to date remains the Company’s largest managed hotel in the country. The hotel has consistently invested in upgrading its facilities. In early 2011, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers was part of a US$6-billion global Sheraton revitalization campaign where the hotel carried out an extensive renovation worth US$35-million, resulting in 726 renovated guestrooms, enhanced meeting facilities, the introduction of a new terrace pool, and  a new dining venue, Sambal Bar & Grill, on the riverside terrace. Since its opening, the hotel has garnered numerous awards and accolades including Condé Nast Traveler (USA) Gold List, Top 25 Best City Hotels in Asia 2011 by Travel + Leisure magazine, and many more.
