Garuda’s income takes a Quantum Leap

The Indonesian airline has welcomed a 124 percent increase in income during January to November last year compared to the same period 2010, citing the rise to the installation of its Quantum Leap program.

Announcing results late last year, the carrier’s income spiked from IDR323 billion in the 11 months 2010 to IDR725 billion last year.

In an online statement, the carrier contributing the rise to the newly installed Quantum Leap program which was designed to offer cost-saving methods while continuously expanding operations.

Launching the program early last year, it is said to have helped the carrier achieve a 41.9 percent rise in revenue over January to November as well as assist the carrier transport up to 15.45 million passengers, up 36.4 percent compared to the same period 2010.

The carrier’s flight frequency also took a positive turn with 25.51 percent more services operating compared to the previous year while its market share shot up five percent from 23.7 percent to 28.3 percent.

In the statement, the carrier also announced plans to launch three new international services between Jakarta and Taipei, Denpasar to Haneda and Denpasar to Singapore.
