New Year, new names for Centara

Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

After the end of a 25 year partnership with Accor, owner of Sofitel and Novotel brands, three of Thailand’s well known hotels will change their names in 2012.

Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok will be known as Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin will become Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, and Novotel Hat Yai Centara will be called Centara Hotel Hat Yai.

The partnership with Accor began with back in 1986 with the then Sofitel Hua Hin and was formally over as of the first day of the New Year. 

A complete renovation is underway at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok in anticipation of the rebranding.  A renovation programme has been completed at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin and at Centara Hotel Hat Yai.

Centara is well established throughout Thailand with 54 properties at key destinations throughout the kingdom.  The hotel group also has a fast-growing overseas portfolio that includes properties in the Maldives, Mauritius, Bali, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The Centara group is made up of five brands including the premium Centara Grand, the 4-star Centara Hotels / Resorts, the intimately-scaled Centara Boutique Collection, Centara Residences & Suites, and the mid-range Centra Hotels brand.
