Emirates considers Gold Coast ads

Friday, 6 January 2012

The UAE airline may have its eye on increasing its Sunshine State marketing with plans that an Indian based senior executive will travel down under to inspect future possibilities.

The executive, Orhan Abbas will be accompanied by ten other delegates from India and will visit the Gold Coast in February this year with the aim of increasing its advertising presence in the region, The Bulletin reported.

While the airline is said to have little intention of  adding extra services to the region, it is planning to utilise the region more heavily in its marketing efforts to the world.

According to media, Emirates experience a 25 percent increase in Indian visitors to the Gold Coast last year compared to 2010 and up to 70 percent of the airline’s total arrival into Brisbane fly directly to the Gold Coast.
