ONYX Hospitality Group appoints PR agency GTI Tourism

Monday, 9 January 2012

ONYX Hospitality Group has appointed GTI Tourism as its Australian PR agency following a competitive pitch. Effective immediately, GTI Tourism will develop and execute an annual public relations programme, promoting ONYX Hospitality Group’s  portfolio of brands encompassing hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and spas.

GTI Tourism will primarily represent ONYX Hospitality Group’s centrepiece brand Amari, which includes properties in Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Chang, Koh Samui, Phuket, and Krabi. Amari also has a number of new hotel openings, including its new Hua Hin resort, and its first property opening outside of Thailand which is located in the Maldives.

Duncan Webb, Executive Vice President, ONYX Hospitality Group, says the appointment of a local PR agency will drive brand awareness of and engagement with ONYX Hospitality Group properties, within the Australian marketplace.

“GTI Tourism’s appointment comes at an exciting time as we pursue an expansion strategy focused on the Asia-Pacific region,” says Mr Webb.

“We were looking to appoint a results-focused agency with strong Australian trade and consumer media relationships and GTI Tourism demonstrated its impressive track record.”

Sarah Anderson, Managing Director, GTI Tourism says, “We are excited to be working with ONYX Hospitality Group to primarily bolster Amari brand recognition in this marketplace while also driving awareness of the diversity of the portfolio.”

In addition to the Amari brand, ONYX Hospitality Group’s portfolio includes luxurious hotel brand Saffron, select service brand Ozo, and luxury boutique serviced apartment brand Shama.
