LOT Polish Airlines has introduced a new graphic layout to the lot.com website, along with solutions which will make its use simpler for passengers. The Polish carrier’s newly unveiled site made its appearance at the weekend. In addition to its new, contemporary look, the layout of information on lot.com will be clearer and more transparent. The selection of the information most crucial to travellers and its location on the website was carried out in line with the principles of web usability and with the intention of simplifying users’ movement around the site. The solutions introduced are the result of passenger surveys and suggestions which highlighted the improvements that would be helpful when using lot.com and the airline’s reservation system. It was from that point of view that the Fly tab was created and contains everything the passenger needs to know, including conditions of travel and, particularly, those relating to special requirements, such as, for instance, flying with children, assistance for disabled passengers and the carriage of animals. While designing the newly unveiled lot.com, a firm emphasis was also placed on giving prominence to the standards of in-flight service and the quality of the associated products. The Fly with LOT tab incorporates a range of information and evocative photographs accompany descriptions of, for instance, the in-flight menus, the LOT fleet and cabin crew and the airline’s in-flight services. In the near future, a new, special tab will be added. Devoted to Kaleidoscope, the LOT in-flight magazine, it will include the internet version of the current number. “Nowadays, a company’s website is its business card. Which is why LOT, with a view not only to bringing its image right up to date, but also making a long-term improvement to its standards of customer service, is now presenting the newly unveiled lot.com,” said Marcin Pawluk, Director of E-Commerce for LOT Polish Airlines S.A., going on to add, “During work on the new, improved version, we obviously bore in mind the opinions of the passengers who use our website and know which solutions will make lot.com clearer and more convenient to use. All that remains for me to do now is to urge everyone to ‘Click on lot.com!’.” Another of the new lot.com solutions which warrants mention is the tab which contains detailed information as regards checking in via the Internet, the LOT Call Center or a Web Kiosk at airports in Europe and around the world. The newly unveiled website was designed by the180heartbeats agency, in collaboration with Comarch S.A. The changeover was made in the early hours of Saturday 7th January and the timing was selected on the basis of research which showed that, as this is the time of lowest Internet user activity, the work would not significantly hinder use of the site. Further work will be carried out in the nearest future, with a view to stabilising and supplementing LOT’s new, improved website. As a result, from time to time, temporary difficulties may occur when using it. |
