New Year Brings New Role, Inspiration and a New Start

Wednesday, 11 January 2012

TravelManagers’ Business Partnership Manager, Sarah Weaver was so inspired working with the personal travel managers in her area that it convinced her to resign from her job and join them!

Sarah Weaver – Personal Travel Manager

“I could see such great potential to build a successful business, experiencing it first hand from the personal travel managers in Queensland, with the ability to maintain a great lifestyle and work balance while raising my son.”

Having worked with TravelManagers for two years Weaver knew this was the company to stay with.

“I didn’t give the other models a second thought as I have a fairly good understanding of the other mobile consulting models and they don’t come close to what TravelManagers offers in terms of business transparency and support, as well as the amazing community spirit amongst the personal travel managers. I appreciate the fact that they are so open about their business model and that nothing is hidden, you know exactly what you’re making at the end of the day.”

Prior to TravelManagers Weaver was the Queensland State Manager for TMS Recruitment (a specialist travel industry recruitment company), with also four years in a large travel agency chain, two years at British Airways and one year at Rydges Hotels, it has provided her with a unique insight into the industry as a whole. Drawing on her experience across the sector Weaver feels that the role of the personal travel manager is the way of the future.

“In addition to the benefits for the client of having personalized service that comes to them when and where best suits their needs, I like the fact that as a personal travel manager I can specialize which you wouldn’t be able to do so freely in a bricks and mortar agency. It’s hugely empowering to know that it’s up to me and I now have the ability to write as much business as I want to, work the hours I want to while having time to spend with my very busy toddler.”

Weaver has a very positive view of the Internet and the role it plays in travel.

“It doesn’t frighten me at all in fact I plan to embrace it with my clients and work with them doing their own research when they want to and then working with them to plan their holidays or business trip.”

Weaver sees building her client base as her biggest challenge but it’s not one that concerns her.

“While I’ll be starting from scratch in my previous role I have seen so many personal travel managers start in the same way and the success stories are incredible.  I know the TravelManagers’ model works so this has given me a great deal of confidence to make the move to become a personal travel manager with them.”

Weaver says starting 2012 with a new goal and focus is hugely motivating.

“I’m so excited about the change that I want to just get stuck in straight away, it’s a lovely feeling being so motivated and itching to get started.”
