Seat recline causes mid-air clash

Wednesday, 18 January 2012

The claws were out on board an Emirates flight bound for Manchester Airport earlier this month after a mid-air fight broke out amongst passengers over a recline seat.

Although not uncommon for this type of behaviour to occur, on this particular occasion flight crew were forced to separate two men aged 18 and 38 as they almost came close to blows 12,000 meters in the air, News.com reported.

According to reports, one man reclined his seat to take a nap as the man sitting behind him was attempting to enjoy his meal.

What started off with a few insults, quickly escalated to the point where cabin crew were forced to separate them and call police to meet the two men upon arrival in Manchester.

An Emirates spokesperson confirmed that there was an “altercation”.

"Emirates does not tolerate this kind of behaviour from passengers and safety will not be compromised," the spokesperson explained.
