Tamworth supports gold card

Friday, 20 January 2012

Destination Tamworth and Tamworth Regional Council are proud to support the CMAA Gold Card Scheme for 2012.

The Gold Card has been allocated to two hundred artists and musicians, in an effort to give back to those that make the trip to Tamworth during January for the Festival.  Artists and musicians will be easily identifiable by their personalised Gold Card. The Gold Card enables artists and musicians to access great discounts and benefits during the 2012 Jayco Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Mayor of Tamworth Regional Council, Cr Col Murray launched the Gold Card today, Wednesday 18 January, at Ray Walsh House.

Cr Murry said, “It is a pleasure to support the Gold Card endeavor, as it is a way of giving back to those artists that make the trip to Tamworth each January, and who make our Festival one of the best in the world”.

Benefits of the Gold Card Scheme include complimentary CBD parking, with Tamworth Regional Council allocating a reserved parking area adjacent to Ray Walsh House that can be accessed from Kable Ave, opposite the stage in Bicentennial Park.

CBD artist transportation is also a benefit for the artist and musicians in the form of a courtesy ‘pick up and drop off’ service running throughout the sectioned area of the infamous Tamworth CBD. There are two golf carts available for Gold Card holders to maneuver their way around the 2012 Jayco Tamworth Country Music Festival.

A discount voucher booklet is included in the festival pack which allows Gold Card holders to access a range of great discounts on food and other items for the duration of the Festival. Businesses, which are participating in this great endeavor, will display a sticker in their shop window.

The Tamworth Gold Card is a CMAA initiative with the assistance of Tamworth Regional Council, Destination Tamworth, Rural Press Events, AM Printing, The Northern Daily Leader, Southern Cross Ten, 92.9 and Radio 2TM.
