Queensland Rail Travel Puts Some Spirit In to the Outback

Australia’s Outback covers thousands upon thousands of square kilometres, but thanks to Queensland Rail Travel’s latest offer, holiday-makers can cover plenty of dirt and dust in just a few short days.

Hop aboard Queensland Rail Travel’s six-day group getaway and you will experience not just the magical Outback towns of Longreach and Winton, but everything in between as you roll along the tracks on the majestic Spirit of the Outback.

While guests will enjoy the ever-changing landscape of the Outback on one leg of the journey by train, Queensland Rail Travel will fly them back to Brisbane at the end of their adventure.

As well as getting the chance to visit Longreach’s stable of historical attractions, including the Qantas Founders Museum, Stockman’s Hall of Fame and the School of the Air, the group will also head to Winton to check out the Waltzing Matilda Centre and the Australian Age of Dinosaurs laboratory.

There will be some unique culinary experiences along the way, too. On the menu are spectacular Outback sunset dinners in both Longreach and Winton, as well as an exclusive gala dinner at the Qantas Founders Museum. It’s old-fashioned Australian tucker, with a dose of country hospitality thrown in for good measure.

There are four departure dates available; March 20, 25 and 27, as well as April 1. Just to get passengers in the mood for heading our west, each booking receives a $50 R.M. Williams gift voucher.

This deal comes hot on the heels of a revamp of fare options on the Spirit of the Outback, with special food and beverage privileges for guests staying in single or twin sleeping berths.
