Two deluxe hotels in the historic Macarthur region, just 50 minutes from the centre of the Sydney, are offering special Valentines deals for couples in February.

With Valentine’s Day – February 14 - falling on a Tuesday this year, the two hotels – the Camden Valley Inn and the Rydges Campbelltown – are close enough to the heart of Sydney for romantics to live it up for the night after work and commute to work the following day.

Overlooking the rolling Macarthur countryside, the four-star Camden Valley Inn has a new Romantic Getaway package for use on Valentine’s Day or on weekends in February. The deal includes a deluxe room with balcony and spa, bath salts, champagne and cheese platter on arrival, a hot breakfast and a late checkout of noon and is available from $170 per room per night on Mondays to Thursdays or $250 per room per night from Fridays to Sundays.

The award-winning Camden Valley Inn is a Tudor-style inn built in the 1930s on land once settled in 1805 by colonial pioneer John Macarthur, who spearheaded Australia’s agricultural and wine industries from the fertile area. The inn offers an outdoor pool, award-winning gardens, a country-style restaurant and an English-style pub.

The 4˝-star Rydges Campbelltown also has a Valentines package including champagne and chocolates on arrival, a room service breakfast for two, late checkout of 1pm and car parking from $289 per room per night on Tuesday, February 14, or on weekends before and after Valentine’s Day. Rydges Campbelltown is located within the heart of Campbelltown's arts and entertainment precinct and offers a fine dining restaurant, high teas and its own boutique brewery with locally-flavoured beers.

Both packages are subject to availability and conditions apply.

In Macarthur, couples can visit historic colonial houses and wineries, stroll or cycle through the huge Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan – the largest botanic garden in Australia -  or enjoy hot air ballooning, aerobatic flights, horseriding or the delights of the Campbelltown Arts Centre’s Japanese Gardens, Teahouse and Sculpture Garden.
