Tuesday, 24 January 2012

Insight Vacations has announced it will be offering a one-off A White Christmas in Europe tour for the 2012 festive season, allowing clients to celebrate the magic of Christmas against a beautiful backdrop of grand cities, charming medieval villages and twinkling festive lights.

Insight Vacations’ 15-day A White Christmas in Europe tour, departing 19 December, 2012 ex Paris is priced $6675 per person, twin share, land only (single supplement priced at $2080). Price includes a mix of premium and deluxe accommodation in desirable locations such as the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa in Switzerland and the Molino Stucky in Venice; sightseeing and highlights as per itinerary, quality dining experiences, transport by luxury coach with business class legroom and airport transfers on Day 1 and Day 15.

What better way to take in this most wonderful time of the year than starting in the City of Lights, Paris. Here guests will see the iconic sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame Cathedral as well as some hidden gems.

Next, the tour will journey into Brussels for an orientation that includes a visit to the Atomium and cheeky Mannekin Pis statue before finishing at the Grand Place with its colourful illuminated Town Hall and giant Christmas tree that adorn one of the most grandiose squares in Europe.

Heading east into Germany, guests will have plenty of time to soak up Cologne’s Gothic architecture as well as trawl through the city’s famous sprawling Christmas markets. If guests don’t pick up any trinkets in Cologne, they will have another chance in Rothenburg. The cobbled square with its Renaissance town hall is all decked out with an array of markets.

Continuing on, guests will travel into the heart of Switzerland for a three-night stay at the majestic five-star Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa, Interlaken’s finest property and the perfect vantage point for unobstructed views of the spectacular mountain range. Here they will celebrate Christmas in style with a Christmas Eve Gala dinner, a special Christmas Day brunch and a carriage ride through the snow followed by gluhwein and gingerbread. The festive cheer continues into Christmas dinner, celebrated at this luxurious hotel. But the true highlight comes on Boxing Day, when guests will take the Bernese Oberland Railway via Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg to board the Jungfrau Railway. This is a sensational journey to Europe’s highest railway station, 11,333 feet followed by a visit to the labyrinth of ice caves and sculptures of the Eismeer Glacier.

The next city on this enchanting tour is Innsbruck, the beautiful capital of Tyrol where you will see the Imperial Palace, Golden Road, and 14th Century houses of the Old Town. Then it is on to glorious Venice where guests will spend two nights among the canals, backlanes and connecting bridges.

As the year draws to a close, guests will celebrate with three nights in Rome discovering ancient sights and Roman legends in the eternal city. Here they will welcome in 2013 with a celebratory New Year’s Eve dinner, before seeing the streets come alive at midnight with thousands of fireworks let off from windows, balconies, trees and car roofs.

The exceptional quality, unrivalled value and impeccable service provided by Insight Vacations will create holiday memories that last a lifetime.
