Air Transat disinfects aircraft

Wednesday, 25 January 2012

A Canadian carrier is giving a few of its aircraft a good scrub and wash after several passengers became ill on the way home from Cuba earlier this week.

An Air Transat spokesperson told media that up to 15 passengers flying on the aircraft back to Montreal were “not feeling good and were a bit nauseous”, Montreal Gazette reported.

It was the fourth time this week that travellers reported nausea and diarrhoea mid-flight.

Although public health employees ruled out the need to quarantine passengers on previous flights, the airline’s spokesperson said the carrier is now disinfecting the planes.

Canada’s Public Health Agency is said to be monitoring the situation.
