Port Douglas Incentives will attend its first Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) in February 2012 with an abundance of new and exciting information for the MICE market.
Sharing a stand with Business Events Cairns and Great Barrier Reef, Port Douglas Incentives will be represented by Chairperson Natalie Johnson. “This is the first time Port Douglas Incentives has attended such an important trade show,” she said, adding, “With so much competition in the market place, we want to ensure Port Douglas is still top of mind for PCO’s, corporates and DMC’s for their clients in the coming year.”
Port Douglas Incentives is a self funded, specialist advisory group of dedicated business tourism and events specialists with commercial interests and operations in the Port Douglas and Daintree region. The group formed as a result of a collective determination to promote the region, ensuring Port Douglas and the Daintree continues to be at the forefront of being an aspirational conference and incentive travel destination.
Ms Johnson enthused, “There are so many exciting changes happening in Port Douglas, with two of our five star accommodation houses and two activities operators completing exciting refurbishment works this year. Two of our member properties will also begin re-branding campaigns this year. All of these activities will significantly boost the destinations profile in the Asia Pacific, in terms of unique natural features, infrastructure, resources and personalities.”
“Port Douglas has the ability to provide a destination to MICE clients looking for a world class, sophisticated, innovative and unique destination making Port Douglas the natural choice for conferences, incentive travel, major events, corporate retreats and meetings,” she said.
Last year, Port Douglas Incentives redesigned their website and implemented the new brand tag line “World Heritage, World Class”. Following on from the website re-launch, the group was represented at Sell TNQ in Cairns, PAICE in New Zealand and Dreamtime in Sydney, with dates set in May 2012 for their annual Port Douglas familiarisation program which has successfully operated for over three years. |
