Tourism Australia’s slogan ‘nothing quite like Australia’ has lived up to its name as eight Australian hotels have been rated among the world’s best. According to UK’s Tatler magazine, the top three of the 101 Best Hotels in the World for 2012 included Queensland hotels Hayman Island, Lizard Island and Noosa’s Makepeace Island, news.com reported. The Blue Mountains Private Safaris and Deux Belettes at Dalwood both made it to the top of the list for NSW, while Northern Territory’s Wildman Wilderness Lodge, Hobart’s Mona Pavillions and the Lake House at Daylesford, Victoria, were all rated as the world’s best hotels. Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew McEvoy said having eight Australian hotels included showed that Australia has so much to give tourists. “The inclusion of no less than eight of our top hotels in Tatler’s top 101 list dispels the myth perpetuated by some commentators that the quality of Australia’s tourism offering is not world class, when the facts continue to show we deliver on global leading product,” Mr McEvoy said. “These eight properties clearly represent world’s best in Australia, and it is exactly these sorts of exceptional tourism experiences that allow us to demonstrate to the rest of the world why there truly is nothing quite like Australia.” |
