The industry rang in the Year of the Dragon with fine food, fine wine and fine outfits last night at the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Chinese New Year celebrations.
Hoping to turn the event into an annual gathering, Hong Kong Tourism Board Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific regional director Andrew Clark told guests that while those born in the Year of the Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988 and 2000) are “supposedly” helpful, flamboyant and effervescent they also have the tendency to be over-scrutinising.
Mr Clark also took the opportunity to showcase the Board’s new television ad which will focus on building on the region’s booming young professional market.
The 60 second ad will run over May and April this year to draw Aussie visitors in during Hong Kong’s summer.
The Regional Director also explained that Aussies were now the second biggest spenders in HK, coming second to the Russians.
