Pizza and luxury were at the tip of the industry’s tongue last night as agents from around Sydney and a few from Auckland celebrated Italy, the One-of-a-kind destination.

Hosted by Leading Hotels of the World, the property Group had selected 11 of its finest Italian hotels to trek down under and share the beauty and wonders of the European country.

Speaking to e-Travel Blackboard last night, The Leading Hotels of the World Australia and New Zealand regional director Katey Matthews explained that the company had experienced a 23 percent jump in Aussies choosing to spend their Italian vacation in luxury.

She said the destination continues to rein as our number one destination while growth in New Zealand remains “slower than Australia”.

“Australians love Italy because of the people, it is fun and the villas are beautiful,” she explained.

Last night Ms Matthews also revealed to e-Travel Blackboard that the company was in the process of signing up with online booking company, Wotif.com.
