MyCEB secures a slew of MICE for Malaysia

Wednesday, 22 February 2012

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) won forty nine international and regional conventions for Malaysia this year.

Malaysia has become a pivotal player in Asia’s business events markets and the upcoming MICE events will provide national economical growth.

“These conventions are expected to attract over 35,750 delegates to Malaysia between 2012-2019 and generate in excess of RM382 million in economic impact for the country,” said MyCEB CEO, Mr Zulkefli Hj Sharif.

The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, various government agencies, Sarawak Convention Bureau and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre partnered to produce impressive results throughout 2011.

“With our new branding campaign launch ‘Malaysia - Asia’s Business Events Hub’ plus a host of other initiatives and a growing focus on innovation, we hope to continue these efforts to progressively realise our mission,” Mr Zulkefli said.

The International Dragon Award Annual Conference will be one of the major events hosted by Malaysia in 2013 with an estimated 5000 finance and professional delegates attending.

In the same year, the Women Deliver Conference is expected to entertain approximately 4500 guests.
