Air Asia axes Solo route

Wednesday, 23 May 2012

Days after unveiling its new campaign and identity, Air Asia has announced it will axe its daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Solo, Indonesia.

Effective 2 September this year, the airline said the cut was part of its realignment strategy and that it would arrange further connectivity between Kuala Lumpur and Indonesia through various alternatives.

“The route suspension is in line with AirAsia Group’s business plan to realign and strengthen AirAsia Indonesia’s operations,” the airline said.

“More connectivity will be allocated for routes between Kuala Lumpur and other destinations in Indonesia soon.”

The airline added that it would contact affected passengers booked to fly on the route, offering guests the option of credit shell for the value they paid with three month validity or a full refund.

Air Asia said it would also offer the option to change flights to other Indonesian destinations without additional charges or move their flights to an earlier date.
