A new Australian website aims to take the frustration out of finding holiday accommodation for families.

The site, familyfriendlyaccommodation.com.au, is the brainchild of Melbourne mother of two, Amanda Woodward.

“Essentially this website is an extension of the word-of-mouth networks we have as mothers,” Amanda said.

“Parents can use the website to not only research accommodation, but can also more widely share their own finds and recommend them to other families.”

Amanda said accommodation booking websites offered more choice for holiday-makers, but trying to determine their appropriateness for families could still be difficult.

“Some of these websites will still put up two hotel rooms for a family of four, splitting you up and doubling the cost. But if you know where to look, there are better and more cost-effective options out there.”

Familyfriendlyaccommodation.com.au currently features listings for more than 300 properties, many of them around Australia, but also worldwide.  New listings are being added weekly.

All properties listed on the site need to welcome and cater for families. Links are provided to the property website and enquiries can be sent directly to the property via email.

“The website also features reviews recommending accommodation to other families. Reviews can be submitted via the website and all reviewers go into a quarterly draw to win a $100 gift voucher,” Amanda said.
