As interest in Malaysia’s Melaka increases and its visitor arrival numbers jump 60 percent, a new interactive web portal is born. ‘Welcome to Melaka’, the website that provides travellers everything about Malaysia’s capital city of culture was started by Mohammas Faeez Mohamad Fadhillah and Juergen Gallistl. “Malaysia is seeing a huge tourism boom, quoting a 60 percent rise in visitors in just five years,” Mr Gallistl said. “We know from our own experiences that travelling to a new place requires a lot of gathering, so we set up the Welcome portal to offer valuable information. Mr Gallistl added that the website not only offers good advice but it also provides the users an opportunity to connect with people who have travelled to Melaka before, or live there. The new website will provide first time visitors with secret tips, general information, articles and even discounts. “We don’t just want the site to be a hub of information, but also a hub of social activity,” Mr Faeez said. “Travellers and locals will have an opportunity to connect with one another, share stories, offer support and build long lasting friendships through the exchange of personal culture.” |
