Travellers Choice member shareholders are gathering at a series of meetings across the country next week to review the national retail group's current and future strategies. Chairman Trish Ridsdale and new Chief Executive Christian Hunter will use the annual meetings to provide members with a detailed overview on the company’s activities, including its financial performance and efforts to maximise support for its growing stable of preferred suppliers. Hunter said he would also highlight broader industry issues, including airline developments, industry regulation, and the vexing issue of credit card charge-backs. “These meetings give our shareholders an opportunity to directly influence the decisions and strategies of the Travellers Choice Board,” said Hunter. “Just as importantly, they also provide a forum for members to discuss some of the challenges facing their businesses with senior management and with each other. In the past, that has allowed us to uncover some important issues and to collectively identify solutions that benefit our entire network.” The year’s member meetings will start in Adelaide on July 11, followed by Melbourne (12), Sydney (13), Canberra (14), Brisbane (15) and Perth (17). Members attending the functions will also hear further details on Travellers Choice’s 2012 Annual Shareholders’ Conference, which takes place this year at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley from November 2-4. |
