New appointments fortify TA’s int’l strategy

Tourism Australia has appointed two new regional general managers to oversee the essential Western markets of Continental Europe and the United States.

Eva Seller will head up operations concerning Continental Europe, while Jane Whitehead becomes regional manager for The Americas.

Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy is confident in both women’s capabilities to fulfil their duties.

“Jane’s business acumen and strategy development experience will be of substantial benefit in achieving our 2020 goals and broader objectives,” Mr McEvoy said.

“Eva has held a number of senior roles within Tourism Australia in the distribution and consumer areas and is well known within Continental European and Australian stakeholder groups, which is a big asset.”

Tourism Australia’s coverage of The Americas includes Canada, the United States and the emerging market of South America.

The national tourist bureau’s European focus is driven the by primary western inbound markets of France, Germany and Italy.

Maggie White is the outgoing regional manager South, South-East Asia, Gulf whose position is under recruitment and due for replacement at the conclusion of this year.
