eNett International – a Travelport joint venture - today launched an eBook to the Australian travel industry, promising to provide “all you need to know” about Virtual Account Numbers (VANs).  Agents and wholesalers can interact online with the VANs eBook to better understand this innovative new payment method and to reevaluate their existing payment solutions portfolios.

eNett VANs have received significant attention overseas in recent months, with some of the world’s largest travel companies signing up to take advantage of multiple benefits including risk reduction, improved cost control, enhanced revenue and enriched data.  European low cost carrier, easyJet recently partnered with eNett to expand their distribution to agencies, offering them new revenue on every payment they make using a VAN in addition to cost and process efficiencies.

Since paying with a Virtual Account Number is a relatively foreign concept, eNett have released an interactive electronic book.  The VANs eBook will inform agents and wholesalers about a new choice in specialist travel industry payment solutions.  “We’re not saying that VANs will replace all forms of payments, but they should be part of the portfolio because they provide additional security and visibility for high risk and international payments,” said Hynes.

Accepted through the MasterCard network, payments made witheNett VANs are guaranteed and can be produced in a variety of currencies, giving agents and wholesalers visibility of the exchange rate at the time of booking.  Integrated with supplier websites and available on the GDS and with self-booking tools, the desktop tool that generates eNett VANs can be easily downloaded online.
