Visit Califoria Sells Out

Tuesday, 31 July 2012

Visit California’s Australia and New Zealand roadshows have filled up in record time only a day after the registration site went live. The sold-out agent nights will take place in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland next month with Visit California introducing a new event format for its fourth roadshow.

“We’ve never had demand as high as this, and I think it is a sign of the appeal of the United States and California as a key destination for Australian and New Zealand travelers alike,” said Tristan Freedman, Visit California Director Australia & New Zealand.

“The standby list to attend the events continues to grow in each of the host cities. We are looking at ways of accommodating more attendees but we are limited by the size of the venues.”

This year, Visit California is offering delegates a complimentary, two-course, California-inspired dinner in the evening, as well as welcome drinks and canapés.

A total of 17 Californian companies and suppliers will visit Australia for the Visit California Roadshow, including representatives from San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and California’s High Sierra.

In addition, some of California’s biggest attractions will also be represented: Universal Studios, Disney, SeaWorld, Premium Outlets and CityPASS.

“We’re thrilled to have such a strong team join us this year,” said Mr. Freedman.

Complementing the agent nights, several media events and wholesale business to business sessions will take place in the three cities.

The agent nights will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on August 21, The Westin Sydney on August 22 and the Hilton Auckland on August 27.
