New stop at Lake Louise, expanded SilverLeaf Service & First US departure highlight the 2013 season The internationally acclaimed Rocky Mountaineer is pleased to announce a host of new travel options for 2013. In the upcoming season, Rocky Mountaineer will introduce an exciting new stop at Lake Louise, AB that will enhance its First Passage to the West journey; offer SilverLeaf Service departures on its Journey Through the Clouds route; and debut its Coastal Passage route, a scenic travel experience that will depart from, and arrive to, the US. “We are always looking for new ways to keep our product best-in-class and offer greater travel options for our guests,” says Hubert Wat, Vice President, Global Marketing of Rocky Mountaineer. “With the launch of these innovative initiatives, travellers will have even more choice to see and experience Western Canada and the Canadian Rockies by rail.” The introduction of Lake Louise as a destination on the First Passage to the West route will enable guests staying at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise the luxury of a quick and direct transfer to their hotel. Motorcoach transfers will also be available to and from this iconic property, and are included on all packages except two day rail-only. This stop marks the return of passenger rail service to Lake Louise for the first time in over two decades and a first for Rocky Mountaineer. In 2013, SilverLeaf Service will expand to Rocky Mountaineer’s Journey through the Clouds route between Vancouver, BC and Jasper, AB. Onboard this route, guests will experience some of the most amazing scenery in the world, including the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mt. Robson, and the breathtaking Pyramid Falls, all from the comfort of a single-level glass domed coach. Combined with entertaining onboard commentary and hot meal service at guests’ seats, SilverLeaf offers affordable luxury. Rocky Mountaineer’s Coastal Passage route, will connect the major cities of Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC to the majestic Canadian Rockies.
