Celtic Festival in Port Stephens Medieval battle re-enactments, strong-man competitions, Celtic dancing and marching piped bands will add a haggis-flavoured atmosphere to Port Stephens on Saturday, September 15, when the annual Clans on the Coast festival descends on the seaside destination. Organised by the Port Stephens Celtic Association as a not-for-profit event, the colourful Scottish celebration is open to everyone keen to watch a spectacle of events such as marching pipe bands, solo piping contest, dancing, singing, medieval battle re-enactments, strong man competitions such as the tug-of-war, caber toss and push up contest, kids events, food stalls and a grand parade of massed bands. Proceeds from Clans on the Coast will be donated to the Nelson Bay Polyclinic and anti-cancer projects. Time: 9am - 4.30pm Saturday September 15, 2012
